  • Paper Chase

I have today printed some A3 size pix on Epson Photo quality glossy paper to make sure I am getting what I want before using an expensive paper.

I use Qimage printing software and an Epson 1800 printer.

I have a question possibly needing two answers and many replies to form an opinion.

What do you use and recommend for say portraits and general run of the mill pix please?

    Kind regards. Barr1e

As your Epson 1800 uses pigment inks you need to be a bit careful - Ilford papers are good on dye inks but not so good on pigment. For my A3 printing on my old Epson 1290 I use Permajet. Have a look on www.on-linepaper.co.uk - they are very helpful and speedy.

I like the easy questions, they have so many answers...

For exhibition printing our club uses Fotospeed on the Epson set at -4 Magenta.

          Hope this helps

              Hi -

StephenL + Graham of Rainham - thanks very much for the links.

angelpaaul + Howi - thanks for the comments re pic. It is Anne and our granddaughter enjoying a sudden break in the weather at Broadstairs a month ago. We arrived and were greeted with rain and clouds coupled with a blustery wind which fortunately blew a little sunshine in.

If others can help with some advice regarding the paper I would be most pleased.

              Regards. Barr1e
