Oh no, that isn't funny! I once went out for the day without a memory card but at least I eventually found somewhere that sold them. I do hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the holiday too much, Jim.

"A hundredth of a second here, a hundredth of a second there even if you put them end to end, they still only add up to one, two, perhaps three seconds, snatched from eternity." ~ Robert Doisneau
Or that naughty battery that is sitting happily in the charger and you don't notice the camera is slightly lighter.
Sorry to hear about your ruined holiday Jim!
Having a spare card and battery in your bag can be useful backups to the main ones. And they would be essential if you forget something. But I guess you need a spare body then too.
Some "blokes" buy their wife a budget m43. How sweet. But now we know why.
My daughter and I went to the Olympics; we got on the train at Watford when she said she had forgotten her camera battery. Got off at Bushey, walked home, collected the battery, walked back to Watford and headed off to the OLympic Park....probably wasted at least 1 1/2 hours.
At the first event I pulled out my camera only to discover I had left my battery in the charger I had to go all the way home, another 1 1/2 hours each way to collect it! I now have a few spares
I forgot mine when I came home and left it sitting on a bench in the grounds of a stately home. Fortunately it was only a couple of hours away and some honest person had handed it it. I didn't notice until I opened the case the following day.
I drove across Canada in 2000 stopping off at friends and relatives. When it was time to head back out west I left all my film in a relatives fridge and didn't realise until I'd been driving for half a day.
It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.
Oh Jim - I am so sorry! What a pain!
I haven't had any such disasters - yet - but it is probably only a matter of time!
On my last trip I deliberately left the E-520 at home as I had just purchased the E-M5 and knew that I would get frustrated with it and end up using the E-520 instead.
It was a huge mistake as I really missed the familiarity of the E-520.
Next time they BOTH come.
I hope you still enjoy your holiday.
Jim I really feel for you, I've done the battery trick and left it in the charger but never left the whole camera behind yet! I hope you get back on line soon and either someone can help with a loan or Ian with a hire.
