  • Snaarman goes down the arcade

We visited Hungerford at the weekend, as we do a few times a year. We had our usual wander around, up and down the high street and eventually into the Hungerford Antiques Arcade.

This is a breathtaking experience. Generally I spot something intriguing and take a closer look. At this point my breath is taken away by how much they want for it.... (Standard galvanised tin bath? £75 sir)*

    Anyway: Blog entry http://snaarman.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/proper-job.html

and a couple of other pictures later - when the gallery upload is working.

    Pete

*It's not all bad. there's a nice Tea Shop hidden in the Rafters.
Look, I'm an old man. I shouldn't be expected to put up with this.

I think I might get in a muddle with it, but I'd appreciate the chance to try. What is the pay and holiday like?

It's got to be better than Groom Of The Stool to Henry VIII.

Sorry, but the job is already all buttoned up.

Meanwhile from another cobweb strewn corner of the Antiques arcade, here's a nice little tome

There is much to learn about Motor Spirit and Magnetos in there, I'll warrant....

Oh a trip down memory lane, back to the days when AA patrol men used to salute their members.

            Erm.

I had to read that twice, but - yes I see what you mean now.

Wasn't it only if their members were wearing helmets or something?
