  • Idiot No 3

I live in a semi-rural area. We recently had a new neighbour call the

Highways Department to request the removal of the 'DEER CROSSING' sign

    from our road.

The reason: 'Too many deer are being hit by cars on this stretch of road! I don't

think this is a good place for them to be crossing, any-more.'

    Love it!

I've always agreed with those protesters that stand by the side of the road with a sign that says:

    STOP
    CHILDREN
    CROSSING

      Classic.

I once had some say when they saw the sign "ROAD LIABLE TO ICING" ask why do they want to put icing on the road.

As you can imaging there was roars of laughter in the car.

When the children were young we had a goldfish. The next door neighbour also bought a goldfish for her children. After a few months the neighbour asked my wife: "Does your goldfish drink a lot of water? I'm always having to top the aquarium up."

Quite a few years ago a national charity in the US printed all their Christmas labels with the text 'Help Cripple Children'!

Around here we see more Black Bears crossing the roads than deer. I've yet to see a deer crossing the road at any of the local deer crossing signs.
It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

Our daughter God bless her is a wee gem. She is one of those people who's brain and mouth aren't always in sync.
We were sat watching the news on TV when she was in her early thirties when after a piece about the Royal Family she said.
"Have you ever noticed, that you never see Prince Phillip and the Duke of Edinburgh in the same room together ?"
She still gets a lot of grief from family and friends over this.
To which she replies "Two first class honours degrees a Masters degree and a Phd. I must be stupid"
                She's got a point!

I was idly perusing the list of ingredients on the packaging of a 'mini Peperami' this lunchtime, when I spotted that the contents contained "Pork(150%)", and I wondered where the extra 50% could possibly be hidden!

We have signs in the area that say
                    Squirrels drive Slowly.
I always wonder they are allowed to drive at all the tourist are bad enough the speed they move.

A few miles after you cross over onto Skye there is a sign on the A87 near Breakish which reads: Slow Children.
Not the best advert for the wee ones of that area.
