  • Blurb cover

This is the book cover for my Blurb book. Trouble is, I cannot get a background colour like the inside pages. Anyone know how to do that before I send it to Blurb.
I have tried their help pages but no luck so far.

Do not try to match colour, choose a different colour that complements the images and text on the cover.

Thanks but not what I am after. The background is white, I want the same background as the inside pages, a light grey, but cannot fathom out how to do it. When I click on background colour, it only affects the inside pages, not the cover.

I understand - can you make the cover into one image that bleeds over the edges - then you will not have any Blurb created background colour

I did my blurb book entirely in Quark, didn't use their software. If you can't find a way around it, let me know and I can do you a cover if you know the shade you need.

Not sure if its the same on your version of Blurb, but I just need to go to Backgrounds at the top of the screen and can select any colour for the front/back page. (obviously can't have a different colour on the back to the front). You need the front page selected when you do this.

That's how I did the cover for my book.

                Thanks for your comments guys.
John, the image in OP is the dust jacket so it is not one image, but four, so cannot do as you suggest.
Simon, I am using Lightroom to make the book, maybe I can go to Blurb to do as you suggest, there is no background button for the cover, the backgound button only affects the inside pages, but I may try your suggestion once I have exported the book to Blurb.
Mike, I may just take you up on your offer. Let me try Simons idea first.
Off to Kent soon, grandsons sixth birthday, should be fun! Going to try out the 9-18mm that I got from Dave Reed.
