  • Great end to bad day...

Ok, smugness alert... I was having a bit of a shocker today, then I found out I came second in this: http://visit.shetland.org/photo-competition1, with this:

The comment on facebook by the judge, Hugh Harrop from Shetland Wildlife, was "In second place - Mountain Hare by Andy Elliott. This is a stunning portrait and the detail in the image is spectacular. We hope Andy has a sweet-tooth as he wins a delicious Shetland hamper kindly donated by the Shetland Fudge Company."

This is coming from a commited Canon user - glad he likes the razor sharp Zuiko glass!

    Congratulations.

No fudge as far as the judging was concerned - what a thoughtful hare.

Must admit to liking fudge, such a simple concoction but so perfect - bit like your shot.

That's great news Andy and well deserved. Enjoy that fudge!

Andy I agree too that's definitely a well deserved prize. The DoF on the hare is just spot on. What lens and camera did you use?

            It was the 300/2.8 + EC-14 on an E-5

Gorgeous image. I love the way these beautiful creatures sit still like this imagining you haven't seen them because of their "effective" camouflage - except the snow has gone!

                Regards

A great image and well deserved placing Andy.

I guess it will be a while till mtf glass matches that standard.
                  Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.
