Re: More bad news for Olympus

I've given up reading all the doom and gloom surrounding Olympus.

...after all, it doesn't affect the way my camera works!

Re: More bad news for Olympus

There is nothing new in this over this morning's news (see: http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthre...143#post140142).

If the underlying business is sound, which it is, then new management or owners will be found.

I don't think that is going to help judging by this article here.

The thing is it is just not the stock market price at the moment and if this part of the link has any truth at all then they will have far more to lose to there home market place.

In Japan, the news of the scandal (which had been under-reported there) was finally the lead story on the evening news broadcast of national broadcaster NHK. The story took up half the broadcast. In a message posted on the Olympus dpreview forum, Ray Kinnane points out, from Saga-shi, Japan, that the reaction of the Japanese public to serious scandals on the part of Japanese companies is often to shun that company's products.
