There's a rumour going around that they'll make an E-5.

It's rumoured that Olympus are currently working on a Micro Four Thirds pro model Pen but that's not expected imminently and there are no real clues yet of what form it might take, but plenty of speculation and wild guesses!John

Re: Olympus E7
For me it got to be a larger sensor, mid sized body, good evf, pro camera in co-operation with Panasonic.
And as a result it would have to be called E-Im L8, as Olympus never get their DSLR releases out on time when it's key users want them. The name reflects this tendency to be late (Eee, I'm late), but also reflects the links to Olympus E-1 and Panasonic L series cameras! (call that a tenacious link?)
Of course by the time it comes out I may well be pushing up the daisies!

I certainly agree with most of what you say, with the proviso that any increase in pixel density would firstly have to offer a tangible step forward in DR and noise performance. Actually I would stay at 12MP if the sensor DR and high ISO were improved in meaningful way.
I too am hoping on the 'Pro' weather sealed m4/3rds - 4/3rds hybrid but as time goes on I wonder whether this is likely to be more fantasy than realityRegards Huw

Re: Olympus E7
In Digital SLR Photography (November 2011) in the "Test Centre" it says, I quote: "Olympus offers DSLRs and CSCs but in truth, its future lies in its PEN range of CSCs. While there are four E-System DSLRs with over 20 lenses the E-5 launched early this year is set to be its last DSLR"
Does some know something we don't or are they guessing?
