I've been asked to shot a group photo outside a building during daylight hours of 400 people. The end result must be one large print approx 2metres x 1metre plus 400 12 x 8 prints. Never done this before got a 10mm - 20mm lens tripod etc and step ladder plus E3, thought about a panoramic stitching maybe between 5 and 9 shots together merging them in Photoshop CS5 shooting Raw then resize using OnOne Resize 7 to upscale to the 2m x 1m print approx 1GB in size.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Regards
    Tom

If the output size stated is a must, then stitching them in panoramic style will result in a tiny strip of the print size being used to fit them across the print resulting in a lot of white wasted space above and below .

Not very satisfactory unless cutting the print to a long panaramic format is acceptable to the client.

If there are steps outside the building I would arrange them in tiers and shoot from a stepladder.
    Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

      Hi Folks

Many thanks to you all for all the advice, I've decided the best solution for the taking of the photo would be to hire a cherry picker that can give variable height up to 25 feet.

Will let you know how I get on if the job comes off subject to costings/fees etc.

      Many thanks

      Tom
