I went to Prague and then Bavaria a couple of weeks ago, Prague just for a visit and Bavaria for a wildlife photo shoot.
I took 3 lenses, I had to compromise to keep weight and bulk down, 7-14, 14-54, 90-250 (no teleconvertor) and the E5.
I was debating even if I'd take the 7-14 but decided it might be useful, it's typically not a lens that sees a lot of use. Well I can say it was hardly off the camera in Prague, the ideal lens, only on occasions did I swap it out for the 14-54. It was perfectly suited to capture the architecture etc around Prague and this is the most extensive use of the lens I've ever had.
On the other extreme in Bavaria the 90-250 was the only lens I used for the wildlife, again it proved to be perfect for the conditions, a tad short on focal length occasionally but being a f2.8 lens and sometimes the light being not ideal it enabled me me to keep a reasonable shutter speed and keep the ISO low as possible. The lens wasn't just used at full reach either, the whole focal length range was used making this SHG zoom ideal, the 300mm would have been way too restrictive and I'd have been swapping lenses all the time.
So a good trip where I got to use extensively use my 2 least used lenses, the ultra wide and mega zoom, both great lenses and a pleasure to use providing stella picture quality.
