OK here, and thanks for the thoughts. I do live near a river, but am 10 metres above it.

Looking at the news, Pontypridd has had a very bad day I see. That river, the Taf, goes through Cardiff, so I have not heard much from there. Also, I believe the Conwy river or area has had significant floods...

Yeah that’s for sure ,one dead dog walker in his 80’s so far , nothing round here but I live atop a hill . Luckily the tides are on the neaps at the moment so that will help lower levels quickly

Thanks Jeff, luckily we live on elevated ground.

What the village is like in the valley below where the River Teifi flows I cant say, haven't been out during the rains.

Thanks for your thourghts Jeff, I live in the Teifi valley near Lampeter. Like David we are in a elevated position (200m above sea level, the valley floor and river is about 120m above sea level).
The River Teifi is now "Lake Teifi", the roads are OK with some surface water, fields are flooded (as they usually do), none of the local properties to my knowledge are flooded.
The Lampeter Co-op's car park is flooded again, but the shop is OK. (Was yesterday when we popped in)

OK here living on a hill as we do. The local rivers are swollen, though nothing like the Taff at Pontypridd. It must be hellish and not for the first time.
