  • Birdsong - a wonderful documentary, not just for birders!

Ireland's national broadcaster, RTE, screened a gorgeous documentary last year, presented by ornothologist Seán Ronayne. His mission was to gather high quality recordings of every Irish native songbird. It is an absolutely gorgeous hour of TV.

The doc is still available for streaming at https://www.rte.ie/player/movie/bird...1/506726951986.
I expect this may be tricky for folk based outside Ireland; I have the same problem with BBC Player. You should be able to get it if using a decent VPN - if any of you manage to do so, it would be really helpful to respond here with advice.
I really hope some of you manage to stream it.

Oh, RTE radio released this series of podcasts yesterday: https://www.rte.ie/radio/podcasts/se...h-sean-ronayne. Each one focuses on a particular bird, and they're only a couple of minutes long.

Here are a few interview clips to give a flavour of the man:

If you use the video tags you can show a preview window of a Youtube video:

    Code:
    [video]youtube url[[/video]
    For example:

There is also an insert video button on the post editor button bar, if you have this enabled, which simplifies this process.
