  • Epson Stylus Pro 3880 Printer

Crashed the printer with paper jam (canvas paper off roll, quite floppy but fairly thick, fed in on a skew) and had to remove the top cover to clear it.

Now the display panel does not display anything, although buttons for power, paper feed and tank lid latch still work OK. Cannot tell on 'Menu' since no display.

Have removed lid again and reseated flat cable with no effect.

Anyone got any ideas ? The printer still works alright but I can only check ink levels via the windows utility now.

All ideas etc. appreciated before I get spending out on another cable and display panel. Maybe have to reset printer in some way ?

Try checking both sides of the ribbon cable. Or the cable tips may have torn off and you need a replacement. Aliexpress or ebay could be your source for replacement.

Thanks, I will try that first.

Cannot be too much - there is only a panel and one cable. Got to be one or the other.

I had hoped some sort of 'restart' would reset things.

Can't be the panel as it was working. I would suspect the cable.

I Only ever use the Windows Display. I find the Panel rather NAFF!. I use the p600 but only for B&W/Mono as my VM does not work.
