FS: Zuiko AUTO-T 350mm f/2.8 ED-IF OM + 4/3 AF Confirm Adapter. Ultra RARE!

After getting the ZD 300/2.8, this is now surplus to requirements and I was going to sell it to a friend who has now had to pull out of the deal. It will also help me pay off the ZD 300/2.8...

Also included is the original aluminium flight case, additional Skylight drop-in filter, an OM-4/3 chipped adapter, arca-style mount plate, home-made lens hood extension and soft bag that makes it easier to carry. There are a few small scratches on the front element, but nothing that appears to cause any impact on the image quality (The front element is huge, 128mm diameter, so small scratches have virtually no impact on the overall light gathering area). Needless to say, the lens is fungus, mark and fog free. Cosmetically good too!

Below are some pictures of the lens alongside the ZD 300/2.8 for comparison, together with a picture of Kingfishers I took with the lens. (The 350 is the white one).

It works pretty well - the lens is recognised correctly as 495mm @ f4 (== 1.414x350mm and f2.8x1.5) and AF confirm works. I would recommend stopping it down to f4 (f5.6 overall) with the EC-14.

Here's some pictures of the scratches on the front element - they are very difficult to photograph. As far as I can see, they only affecting some areas of the coating rather than the glass itself. You have to tilt the lens to just the right angle to see them on the coating. Here are a few pics:






If you look in the reflection of the first two images, you can see the worst scratches. The final picture gives an idea of what the front looks like if you don't look too hard!

Being new to this forum could you kindly point me in the direction to learn more about this lens?

I seem to recall reading about someone fitting a Pentax filter to one but the thread on the front isn't really a filter thread so it only screwed on a part turn.

I've never bothered, the front element of mine is badly marked up but it doesn't seem to affect the performance of the lens.

I know there has been a lot of interest in this lens, but unfortunately for those hoping for the initial offer to fall, through, it didn't, so the lens is NOW SOLD.
