  • For sale Thinking of selling my 300 f4

I bought a 300 f4 late last year with the intention of doing more wildlife photography but it's just not happening. So, I'm thinking of selling it since it's just sat in the cupboard doing nothing! It's in pristine condition, boxed with both the tripod mount and the optional "decoration" ring that covers the lugs for more comfortable hand-holding.

Anyone interested? We can talk price if so and I can send some shots of the lens (although as I said, it's pristine).

Re: Thinking of selling my 300 f4

I've been toying with the idea of getting a 300 f4 to try against my 100-400 Panasonic.

Let me know what price you were thinking.

I can't believe you are selling Paul after those stunning shots you posted.

Re: Thinking of selling my 300 f4

I can vouch for the IQ of the 300mm f4 even with the MC14 added. I would dearly love to have it in my arsenal but realistically, I wouldn't get very much use out of it (and my wife would stop me ). My 75-300, although inferior in many ways, offers considerably more versatility and is used much more. I can live with its shortcomings.

I would be interested in the lens as I am getting into bif etc with my mk2.

It seems there is some interest here, so I'll post up a few pics and list everything there is to know about the lens in the next day or two (along with a view on price).
