  • Sold Samyang 300mm mirror & Olympus 12-50mm lenses

this thread. Comes with all the original packaging, pouch and hood. SOLD.

All the above pictures were taken with my Olympus 12-50mm, the first MFT lens I bought to go with my M5, this has now been replaced with a Panasonic 12-60, but eventually expect that to make way for the 12-100 Pro.

Comes complete with a genuine Olympus petal lens hood, which when reversed for storage means it fits beautifully into an Olympus storage case. This is not one of the rather pitiful drawstring 'bags' but a nice solid zip-close case. SOLD.

Would prefer a bank transfer, but PayPal is OK.

Any questions feel free to ask.

All the above pictures are straight out of the camera SD card and uploaded to one of my albums.

Seems to be little interest here so also for sale on another forum prior to eventually going to a certain auction site.

Would the 12-50mm work Ok on a Panasonic GH-1?

Hi Sid - the GH1 a 'micro four thirds' camera which this lens is designed for, however there is no in lens stabilisation & I don't believe the GH1 has in body stabilisation.

        regards,

Re: Samyang 300mm mirror & Olympus 12-50mm lenses

I use my 12-50 as my "carry around" lens all the time, and use it mostly on my Panasonic G5 body. It works fine, and is a very useful range (with the additional Macro capability that I occasionally use). It balances well with the G5 body. So, it should work fine on the GH1.

The only "fault" I find is the lenshood should be centre-pinch as I leave the hood permanently-attached. But I lost my hood just the other day, so will buy a centre-pinch to replace it :-)

(I'm trying not to be tempted by the Samyang - but my Minolta 500mm mirror doesn't get much use, so I know I shouldn't ... :-D)

Both lens prices seem pretty reasonable.

            Hi Paul.

I think the lack of stabilisation would be an issue so regretfully I’ll have to leave it.

So as I don't seem to be getting any offers at all, am I asking too much?

Paul I don't think you are asking too much and have been quite tempted as you were just to see if I really needed that 300mm view. having been to Bempton yesterday with the 40-150 & 1.4tc I am convinced I will go longer one day but as you decided I'll also go for the Panny 100-400mm. So although I was tempted to try out your little mirror lens I'm afraid you've actually given me enough info already to make my decision and go for the zoom without trying it. Your images though were really good and much better than I expected. Good luck with the sale, it does look like a nice intriguing and very small 300mm lens. Have a bump on me.

Paul, I really shouldn't but I'd like a 300mm mirror to add to my collection of mirror lenses (currently using 500/6.3 & 600/8 cat's usually via a focal reducer).

I still only have Panasonic bodies, so don't have full memebership here. Please PM me to discuss payment details etc.
