    Hi Nick,

Welcome to the forum. I can appreciate your enterprise in offering your camera equipment for hire, so that you can recover some of the cost, but we do have a policy of no trading or advertising commercial goods and services. Furthermore, we do have a hire service attached to this site and would not wish this to be undermined.

I hope you enjoy the opportunity for lively discussions and sharing of excellent pictures that the forum offers, with a little humour thrown in.
    John

Having read Nick's profile I don't think he is your average spammer. I believe he is a genuine Olympus user who has come across a novel idea for making a bit of extra cash and didn't realise it broke forum rules. I saw an article in Amateur Photographer magazine recently, which promoted the idea of funding your equipment by renting it out when you're not using it and this could be where the idea originated. The opening post did not provide a link and I'm assuming that not that many people will bother to google, but if it gives peace of mind I will blank out the relevant bits. I chose not to delete this thread to give Nick the chance to explain himself if he wished.

I suppose I could have rented everything and disappeared into the wilds of Canada. Not that I want a gimmick laden novelty camera for my keyring.
It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

I was curious enough to Google that website but you needed to register to get any gear lists so didn't bother going any further.

Oh, so you are not really in the wilds of Canada - where it would take a fortnight following moose and elk trails just to reach Grizzly Adams' cabin in the woods.

SWMBO hasn't chased the Bear off for a week or more. Last week it was a Skunk twice. The second time the dog went after it but the Skunk turned around and headed back into the bush rather than spraying the dog.

I missed a Skunk by inches on my way to work the other morning.

That would have been a great way to get a day off work - they surely would have sent you home!

I suspect it thinks someone waving a finger at it and saying 'NO' as it's eyeing up the bird feeders is certifiable and to be avoided.

Actually I was surprised it hadn't sprayed the car, I was so close to hitting it I was waiting for the thump.
