  • For sale MMF3, Superb 11-22 and 50-200 lenses

Still got some of my older gear to shift and really need these to go. All three of them are in superb condition and I'm happy to answer any questions via PM:

The most up-to-date convertor to use Four Thirds lenses on m43 bodies, the MMF3 is weather-sealed so would make a great addition for E-M5 or even more so E-M1 owners, especially when paired with my lenses below!

Stunning fast weather-sealed lens in really excellent condition. Unmarked optics and cosmetically shows few if any signs of use. Comes boxed with hood, pouch, front and rear caps. Perfect landscape lens which I thoroughly enjoyed using during a recent trip to Glencoe. It provides wonderful colours, especially when paired with the E-1 (magic combination).

If you want the new 40-150 pro but can't justify the cost this is for you! As for the 11-22 this is a lovely lens in brilliant condition. I bought it from the German "Asgoodasnew" outlet on EBay a year or so back and it truly is "as good as new". Optically perfect and cosmetically shows only the most minor signs of careful use. Comes with tripod mount, front and rear caps, hood and nice heavy duty Olympus lens case. Do yourself a favour and use this instead of a 75-300 kit zoom, and you'll think it's the best money you've ever spent!

    Cheers,

    Jon

      Re: MMF3, Superb 11-22 and 50-200 lenses

      Hi Steve,

I'm certainly happy to do a price for the lot but my answer to whether they would be a good choice for you is "it depends"! There follows a healthy dose of honesty for a For Sale thread.....

I'd recommend the 11-22 more than the 50-200 for use with your camera, because I would assume that it is likely to be used for static/landscape images, quite possibly using manual focus. If however you want fast autofocus on any micro 43 body other than the E-M1 then using older Four Thirds glass is likely to be a disappointment (although not in terms of image quality). The 50-200 is lovely but in my view unless you are happy to use manual focus it's really best suited to the E-M1 because you're more than likely going to be photographing moving objects from some distance, and the E-M1 is the only m43 camera Olympus has made which offers the combination of phase detect and contrast detect autofocus modes that allows you to use the older lenses with little if any drop in AF performance compared to the predecessor dSLR bodies they were originally designed for.

      So in short:

If you are interested in a great landscape lens and the idea of slow autofocus or manual focus does not worry you, then the 11-22 is superb

If you are interested in telephoto work but think it may be of moving objects where fast autofocus is important, then the 50-200 is probably going to frustrate you. Unless you also buy an E-M1 in which case it is superb!

      Hope this helps?

        Re: MMF3, Superb 11-22 and 50-200 lenses

Jon I commend you on a perfect response, really detailed and truly honest absolutely in the spirit of this forum. You don't want to sell your car do you . As someone who has just sold a 50-200 at that low price I can confirm it's a bargain and I was close to not selling mine. Make sure you check out the postage though Jon I got stung as the cost in the local PO was quite a bit more than I'd quoted from the on line estimate.
The 11-22 is also as you say a superb lens, it just seems to produce a lovely contrast and colour in it's images. I find it's qood for close up flowers too which I hadn't expected. Your price for that is also very keen another bargain I'd say. I'd be sad to see mine go for that little. Good luck with the sales, have a bump on me.

          Hi Jon
thanks for your honest reply (Don't often see them) and the advice.
I have a Tamron 14-150 on my EM-10 and was looking to upgrade the glass.
I was looking for a Panasonic 35-100 and and Olympus 14-40 pairing but saw your add and thought whey would be a good choice.
Based on your opinion I think I will pass on your lenses .
Thank you for your time help and advice.
More than good luck with your sale.
          Steve

It was just to add that i Use the 11-22mm with an MMF-3 as my main lens on the OM-D EM-5, I use it for everything and it is a stunning lens even if i do have to use manual focus!
Best of luck with the sale!

Long time lurker, first time poster, please be gentle with me.

I have a legacy E-1 / 14-54 combo crying out for some more lenses so definitely interested in taking both of these. I can make a PayPal later this evening - just confirm how much for as you will only need 1 set of postage now (assuming no-one has PM'd you before hand).

                  Regards,
                  Martin

                      Re: MMF3, Superb 11-22 and 50-200 lenses

                      Hi Jon,

Thanks for your update regarding the lenses you still have for sale. A pity about the 11-22 having gone but that means I can now continue to lust after a 7-14 :-)

Sadly, I must pass on the Zeiss as my eyesight isn't going to cope with repeated manual focusing, and the 40-150 is too low a grade, but I'll take the 50-200.

I need to get some chores done but I'll be back in about 30 mins. That also gives me time to work out the PayPal value (and make some more posts so I can PM you).

                      Cheers,
                      Martin
