as you may have seen in another thread I have just bought a godox flash trigger from another member . had a frustrating couple of hours watching u.tube videos and getting it to pair up with my godox flash . finally sussed out the menu system and got that part done . put it on the OM1 and nothing zilch just not working , watched the u.tube video again in stop start in case I missed something out , tried again still nothing starting to get wound up is it faulty etc tried again same results after 2 hours about to say sod it .

then I know I'll try it on my old mk1 body got it out put the transmitter on turned the flash gun on .WOW perfect tried it a few times turned on and off again all perfect , swopped lenses on the OM1 tried again still nothing ...oh crap is there something wrong with my camera looked at the SCP flash was disabled went into menu turned on the relevant settings for flash .. tried again still nothing getting to a grrrrrrrrrrr moment

finally sat down calmly and looked at my settings high speed shooting enabled at 20fps changed it back to single shot ,flash panel on SCP came alive .put the flash controller back on camera set up flash gun remotely bingo all working

so for all you other old age idiots out there please think about what your doing with these computer type things we own .. now where did the daylight go

Had the same problem with my new OM-5 and then realised it was in silent mode (with FL-LM3), switched to mechanical shutter and away she went.

Oh for the old OM-1 where all you had to do was focus and get the needle in the right place.

What memories! All you needed the battery for was to power the meter; everything else was mechanical.

Love your story Jeff except it hits too near to home! I have been known to wander around the house looking for something getting more and more upset only to find I was actually holding the item in my hand all along!

The secret is to put it 'somewhere sensible' and its never seen for weeks.

We always put things in a safe place then they are never seen again.
