  • Isle of skye.

I have the opportunity to visit next week at short notice. Can anyone recommend wildlife/birding trips or areas please.
    Kind regards mike.

Take a look at this guy's site - Glendale, Skye - Tourist Guide (glendaleskye.com)
The only problem it is mainly around Neist Point which is likely to be rammed at this time of year as it is one of the 'honeypot' sites on Skye. There is also a boat that goes out of Portree to feed the Sea Eagles, but you'd be very lucky to get booked on at short notice.

I would suggest Sleat. There is fine circular road and a couple of walks off it.
Raasay is possible but there is not much accommodation so it may be full. The point opposite Sconser where you catch the ferry is also good for Dolphins.
And there are walks to hides near Kylerhea which are good to see Otters.
Avoid the hotspots of Glen Brittle, Neist, Kilt Rock, Storr Staffin and Elgol although the road to the latter offers good opportunities.

        Lots of toys.
