  • Noticed something weird

    Last night while taking the night shots ,I had my focus point set to the centre point for landscape shots , but when I turned it for vertical shots the focus point moved to the top of the screen , it was dark ,freezing cold and storm force winds so I didn’t mess about only out of the car for about ten minutes . But wondered why this happened .will check on camera ina bit

    You probably have orientation linked AF targets set differently for landscape and portrait. It was a new feature on the Mk3. Under menu A2 I think.

    Just checked - it is page 210 in the manual. I can’t remember what I set mine to!

      Cheers bill ,probably be that .. remember seeing it in menu but ignoring it as I don’t normally shoot portrait

    Mine's does that occasionally. I put it down to the camera making sure I was paying attention. You know how smart cameras are these days.
