Re: PEN-F, Crap quality. Third time unlucky.
Agree Dave when I pay for goods I expect them to be perfect. I find it strange WEX is also the supplier where Phil got his faulty panasonic 100-400 lenses. B grade electronic goods come to mind?
Why accept faults were does the level stop just wee dents and marks or scratches? You are paying for new perfect bodies and that is what to expect otherwise we would all get marked goods.
If I buy and damage it I am annoyed but accept it but why pay for damage.
You have patience to keep trying maybe a refund and go elsewhere?

Re: PEN-F, Crap quality. Third time unlucky.
It's true Ed I did get my problem Panasonic lenses from Wex. Not sure there is any connection though I'd be very surprised if they were accepting substandard quality items knowingly and passing them off as first class. They do seem to be too happy to just "get the next one off the shelf" rather than look into the issue. In my case I'd have expected a bit more of a lets try to get a lens that's acceptable for you. And in Dave's case surely the customer services guy should have inspected Dave's replacement camera personally to make sure his original complaint defect wasn't on the first replacement camera. Thus never getting round to the second one! In both my case and Dave's I'd hope Wex would go through their stock of lenses/cameras and check for the faults and send any offending items back to the manufacturer to be sorted out and to fix the QC issues. It's the only way Wex can retain their good reputation and Oly (/Panasonic in my case) can fix their manufacturing problems.
I'm afraid I gave up after two problem lenses and Wex seemed happier to refund my cash to get rid of me. I admire your perseverance Dave and hope they get you a first class camera as you deserve. I agree with you if I'm buying new then I expect it to be perfect as it was intended whoever it's from. If I'm buying something with an obvious defect then I'd expect a price reduction up front so I can decide if I want to proceed or not. If I'm buying secondhand or refurbished the price should also reflect that and again it's a conscious effort by me to get a better priced deal. I hope you continue to pursue this and get a perfect Pen-F. Part of me still wishes I'd persevered with the Pany lens as I'd still like one but I've decided to try the Oly x2 converter now so hope they get on with selling it!
