Having finally extracted myself from the great Sony mess up of last week , I am now at a crossroads I did have my heart set on a back up camera I.e a e.m1x .ebut swmbo has shown no interest and I doubt she could manage it anyway .. .. so it’s probably going to be a lens .. been looking at macro again ??

Think of all those wonderful knee bends that you can perform with such a lens. 🏋️‍♂️

I struggle to keep up with your equipment purchases

While I pontificate you have bought and sold half a dozen bits of kit.

Not really Dennis , got the 50mm f2 FT that takes a t.c for my macro needs that’s more than enough . Can’t get down low these days anyway . Was gonna get a e.m1x but Wex haven’t got any stock and I don’t really trust other dealers in the same way ..may just wait till they get a good one back in ..

I have been using the 4/3 50 f2 and, when needed, x2 TC for years and only remove it from my camera for non-macro or higher magnification, the Laowa 25mm covering the latter.

I’ll probably wait for the mkiii on that .. it can’t be long if they get hold of new Sony sensors

May have to wait. They just released the OM-3. They still have the OM-10, Pen-F and OM-5 to update.

MPB are very Good Jeff. Bought off of them before with no probs.I was thinking of buying the 'Panasonic Lumix S1RII ff with 24-105 lens then buying a sigma long lens for it for birding.

If your lucky there o.k but had a bad experience with them in the past , plus there description of goods leave a lot to be desired , lack of someone to answer the phone ,and only six months warranty .i can wait for Wex not in a rush

All the stuff I didn't want over the years has gone to MPB...... and all of that has been 'Like-New'

Yes Dave your gear and mine will be in A1 condition. But they buy from anyone so your taking a chance they don’t publish shutter counts so you might get a low count or a million plus one .. once bitten twice shy

Hope you find the right one for you soon Jeff. Happy Photography.

I have always found Ffordes to be good. Not the cheapest, and I'm sure there are occasional problems just like anywhere, but in general the goods have been as described or better and they have been good about sorting out the odd glitch.

Still in a quandary over what to do . Pretty sure I don’t need any new or additional lenses only missing a good macro but that doesn’t appeal to me due to age and mobility , so back to bodies the 1.mkii is o.k but I dread the deadly grip rubber problem as I have oily skin .. the 1-mkiii I have had it’s a good one but I always felt it was lacking that magic touch .. the e.m1x is high on my desirable list even though it’s heavy . But the one I had earmarked on Wex sold last night .. I really want to buy from them having had bad episodes from other sellers plus Wex tend to be cheapest with the best service ??? Oh and these days I lack patience if you hadn’t noticed

Need, what need? From your history you seem just to enjoy messing about with photo tackle. So why worry, just buy what takes your fancy and sell it soon after. If it keeps you happy and you stay solvent, just carry on as always. Don't let photography get in your way.

Totally correct Kenny ,I don’t “ need “ another camera ..I would like another camera for my other lenses to save chopping and changing . But I couldn’t use both at the same time , the wife has little or no interest in taking photos these days ,especially as the son just gifted her a pair of expensive Kowa binoculars .. hmmmm gonna give my head another wobble I think 🤯🤯😵‍💫

It’s now a well known ‘dopamine fix’ issue which has developed since online shopping commenced.
