I’ve got a physical DVD copy of Lr5 with an activation code that has supported an update to version 6. The only use I make of it is to allow soft proofing with a printer profile from the printspace.com who I use for printing. I’m not aware of any other way to do this, and the later versions don’t offer me anything useful.

Adobe have threatened to kill off even kosher licensed copies of Lr, but I installed v5 and upgraded successfully to V6 recently on my new desktop, so clearly they haven’t done that yet.
