  • Luminar 4 Experience or time to move on.......

    Hello Guys
Are there any Luminar 4 users out there who can confirm how good the software is as I've been editing RAW files it appears to either crash, slow to respond, or just plain quirky. At times it just crashes in mid edit etc. I've deleted and reinstalled it however its very random as sometimes works without any issue. I'm also using capture one and Affinity and no real issues at all. I'm using it on a fairly powerful windows 10 desktop. Your thoughts would be appreciated as I do like the looks and one click edits useful albeit lazy !

I have it and like it, none of the issues you report. My laptop is a few years old running a core i7 processor and Windows 10.

I have a Windows PC, Intel i5 2.90ghz, 16gb ram, 447gb SSD and a 4gb Nvidia GTX 1050 graphics card (but Luminar does not make use of the GPU apparently) I had Luminar 3 and it ran very slow on my PC and kept crashing. I upgraded to Luminar 4 and it is much much better and has not crashed yet. Saving files is still a bit slow but otherwise it works well for me. I did try Luminar AI but was not at all impressed with it and got a refund!

I get the occasional lockup on Luminar 4 but overall it works pretty well and quick enough (it could always be quicker).

I have an older i56600k (overclocked from 3.6 to 4.2) and 32gb of RAM.

These are my pc setting details, I'm assuming it should run well......

            Device name OMEN
            Processor AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core Processor 3.00 GHz
            Installed RAM 16.0 GB
Radeon RX 580 graphics card (supposed to quite good !)
256 SSd running windows 10 Home and 2 TB Hard drive for Storage
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

It seems to hang or crash when I'm copying adjustments from one photo to all ie Batch Copying adjustments.
