Windows 10 Update Failure

I tried to update my windows 10 laptop yesterday and it wouldn't let me, giving an update failed message.

I also tried to update windows 10 running on Parallels Desktop on my Mac and got the same update failed message.

On doing some googling it appears there is a world wide problem affecting some people trying to update. Microsoft after a lot of pressure has promised a fix.


Has anyone on here tried updating recently and did it work OK?

At least I am not alone.

Like you, I will wait for Microsoft to fix it.

Make a change not to have it updating every day.

My VM was up to date as of yesterday but just done an update check and it’s found one, so we’ll see how it goes (or doesn’t!)
I’ll report back....

OK, all updated, just a Defender update currently installing, so seems to have gone OK here.

Just tried again this morning and it updated without a problem.

Seems Microsoft have fixed the bug.
