Since the last welcome dose of assistance I have been familiarising myself with Rawtherapee (version 4.0.12.0) and somewhat unsuccessfully trying to develop a RAW processing workflow. I have returned once again to tap the accumulated knowledge of my betters to help me overcome a few hurdles I have come up against.
First hurdle: (which is by far the most irritating) I have been unable to figure out how to sort the thumbnails in the viewer. By default they are alphabetical by filename but I am more of a date order kind of guy. I have not found any way of changing the method of sorting. Am I missing something obvious or is there no way of changing the method of sorting?
Second hurdle: I have been trying to develop my own workflow based on this one by Cambridge in Colour: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tut...g-workflow.htm
To summarise:
1. White Balance
2. Exposure
3. Noise Reduction
4. Lens Corrections
5. Detail
6. Contrast
7. Framing
8. Refinements
10. Resizing
11. Output Sharpening
Which appears to me a fairly sensible however I trip over on a number of aspects. Mainly the terminology is slightly different which gets me confused. The vast majority of guides to RAW processing are written with specific reference to lightroom/photoshop. Although the generalities are similar there are enough differences in specific areas that I lose confidence in what I am doing (e.g. adjusting black and white points in Rawtherapee isn't immediately obvious and the blacks are managed differently).
I have read most of the manual but that doesn't give any indication of what is a useful direction to take.
Any advice will be welcomed particularly from those of you who use Rawtherapee. At least please let me know how to sort the thumbnails to save me from damaging something in my frustration.
