  • 50 years BP (Before Photoshop!)

My partner trained as a photo retoucher in the 60s, working mainly for magazine adverts. Below are some examples of her work as an apprentice. She's still very good with an airbrush!

    Bathroom before retouching:

    Bathroom after retouching:

    Valve before retouching:

Valve after retouching (unfortunately reflections on RHS):

    Motor before retouching:

    Motor after retouching:

    HGV on motorway:
The sky, road surface and concrete section of bridge are airbrushed. The HGV is cut and pasted on. (The underside edges of the lorry are thinned with by sanding to reduce any 'step').

Hand created with only an airbrush:
A 'self portrait' my partner did of her hand.

We have it so much easier with digital photography and PP!

Fantastic work, your partner ought to become acquainted with the Wacom Tablet and Airbrush.

I've got one, but she's a technophobe and won't go near a computer!

What a shame your partner has a wonderful skill set to hand which could just set Photoshop on fire.

Thanks for sharing the wonderful images.

Very nice. Someone I was at art school with used to knock up tax discs in his spare time.
It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.
