Sigma 10-20

I've just got my new Sigma 10-20. In view of Sigma's variable quality, I'd appreciate comments from any other 10-20 owners on how my lens compares with theirs with regards sharpness etc.

Photos posted on my gallery for comparison. All handheld, F7.1, 1/160 at 10mm, 1/100 at 14mm and 1/80 at 20mm.

I've not checked the pics yet mate but I'll be in Hexham in the next 2 to 3 weeks if you want to compare your Sigma 10 - 20 and mines?

If Hexham is too far away I'm going to Warkworth for a Kilt fitting when I'm down if you want to met half way?

Ah Ken, now there's a question!

Garrie lives in Scotland, but is he a Scot? When you get to speak to him you may find his accent a little more familiar than you might have expected!

I'm a Geordie (worked in Hexham and Long Benton for ages) but now live near Falkirk, the only place I can get a Northumberland Tartan is Warwick of all places.

Ken - More than happy to meet up mate but my 10 - 20 is with Sigma at the moment as I bust it however my parents live in Bardon Mill so I'm down every few weeks, I'll give you a shout when I'm next down if thats cool?

It would be great to meet with you, or anyone else in the area come to that.

Perhaps an organised shoot in the North East?

Could you give me the contact address/phone for the Northumbrian tartan?

My son is getting married in Scotland next year and the traditional English dress for visiting Scotland (red coat, tricorn and musket) would probably not be a good choice.

Some nice shots, I like the skies - ND grad or polariser?
Image sharpness seems similar to mine, so I guess my copy must be an OK one.

I am more than pleased with my 10-20mm with regards to IQ, Sharpness colour quality etc. I have pixel peeped till the cows come home, it is a superb lens. There is lots of talk/photos etc of the new ZD 9-18mm, some even claim it is as good as the 7-14, I think this is just hype, there seems to be some examples of softness in the corners etc, I can't say I have noticed it with the sigma. I won't be changing mine for a long time, if at all.

i had a cheap 7dayshop.com polariser on but i darkened them a bit in photoshop allso did a few adjustments in levels i have a few ND grads but ive had em a while and they dont cover the Sigma 10-20 mm lens

I agree it would be good for a meet in The North East and if anyone is up for it I could guide us round some derelicts in the area?

The kilt is called the Northumberland Tartan also know as the Sheppards Tartan, I've not had a fitting yet but this is what I should look like
