70 -300 Lens Problem

I was usung this lens today when it decided not to focus anymore. I cleaned the contacts - nothing doing. Checked another lens and all OK.
I then tried the 70-300 on Anne's camera in case the E-3 had blown a fuse - no response. In A mode you can focus by using the focusing ring - there is a little rumble when doing this.

Ideas or help would be most pleasing or it's back to Olympus.

Sounds like back to Oly to me.

Probably the drive motor gone.

Hi Chris -

I have to say I was most impressed with Olympus - returned as new after about three weeks. I have used the service department twice - the first occasion was of my own making and the repair was FOC, covered under the warranty I presume.
