I don't know if I'm a reputable reviewer, but I can give you my opinion!
In my view it is an amazing lens for the money, (I bought mine used, so even more so). I hope the attached shot shows why I think this in terms of IQ. OK it's not particularly fast, but on any OMD it's very usable.
Don't be fooled by its plastic construction - it is still a robust lens. I dropped mine on the pavement in Istanbul and it still works perfectly - this shot was taken after I'd dropped it. The big, big advantage for me as a traveller is that it is so light and I nearly always have it in my bag when travelling.

Look it up on slrgear.com, it comes out extremely well when you look at their sharpness charts. Having looked at this and seen the prices second hand I'd say it's a definite no brainer if you don't mind changing lenses to get your zoom range. I was surprised how much better it was than the Oly 14-150.
I am considering the purchase of the 40-150 to my lens group. Is there a difference between the R model and the ED model?
I can certainly recommend this lens, must be the best value for money for any lens I ever bought.
I have the R version. The difference is that it has so-called "MSC" - Movie and Stills Compatible focussing mechanism - supposed to be faster/quieter than the previous version.
I used to have the 4/3 version and used it sometimes on m4/3 with an adaptor. I don't remeber the m4/3 R version seeming to focus faster, but it certainly was not any worse. From an IQ pont of view I found no detectable differnce between them - both very good.

I have been thinking about picking one up for my dad so have been keeping an eye on prices recently; the new price from shops like SRS at £119 and Bristol Cameras at £115 appear really good value compared to eBay where they are going for around £110 secondhand. If I seriously thought he would use it I would be tempted as I haven't found a used one that is cheap!

Bringing two recent threads together, I bought the red E-PM2 and the silver 40-150mm. The lens arrived today and a quick lunchtime grab shot at the pond on the business park where I work got this:

This was taken with it: jpeg straight out of my EM-1 shot at ISO 400. f5.6, 1/2000, 89mm focal length. I think I relied on S-AF as I wasn't having luck trying other AF modes as this was pretty much the first time I used the camera and I was in "learn to use it fast" mode...
I know: as an action photo the shutter speed is too high and has frozen the movement too much but I'm posting it here to show how sharp the R lens is, especially for a budget lens. In a previous life using Canon full frame I would have been pretty happy to get a shot as sharp as this (under similar conditions) using the 24-105 F4L IS lens
