New to me Bigma

I wasn't planning on buying anymore 43rds mount lenses, but I saw a used Sigma 50-500mm last week and got it from Adorama. I am thinking that the m43 300mm f4 and any m43 teleconverters are a few years away, and I can use the Bigma now with my E-3 (and in the future should I get an E-M1 someday).

There is a learning curve with this beast. By stopping down to f8-10 with good light and fast shutter speeds, I am beginning to get some reasonable results. I have seen some really good images from Bigma users on this site, so I am confident the lens (or my camera) will not be the limiting factor.



I am enjoying this lens and glad I found a decent copy.

Nice, good start, heavy to carry but the reach makes it worth it.

Nice picture. As you mentioned the lens needs stopping down fo F8 or smaller (at least when venturing in the long end of the zoom range).

Nice shot with great detail.

I personally find f6.3 to be the best. I never shoot at full length either, I always wind the focus back 1/8 of a turn. It still registers at 500mm but seems to come out a little crisper.
