Well I made the jump and instead of repairing my 12-60mm FT lens I have gone and purchased a Olympus M.Zuiko ED 12-100mm f/4 IS PRO. Can't wait on it arriving now. :-)

:-) Can't wait on it arriving now. Not sure what to do with my 12-60mm as still works but need to be aware of exposure and adjust. Might still get it repaired.Originally posted by Goon525 View PostYou won’t regret it. Best ‘do everything’ lens any manufacturer has produced.
I'm also looking to move on my Macro 50mm and 1.4 TC to fund it and might also move on the 45mm 1.8 but I really love that lens.Olympus E-30

It's a lovely lens, I'm sure you wont regret getting it. That was a really good bargain price too, especially with that 6 months warranty.

I was looking at grey imports for £750 and then spotted the one I bought. Need to raise some funds now to cover the purchase. :-) You only live once I suppose.Originally posted by Phill D View PostIt's a lovely lens, I'm sure you wont regret getting it. I enjoy hearing/reading when people buy camera equipment. You can feel the joy and excitement in their words. Since I just bought a 60mm 2.8 a short time ago, I don't mind living variously via the internet for a while.
Looking forward to hearing from you after you take it for a test drive and seeing some of your images.
Good Luck.

It's an excellent lens which covers many needs and you'll be pleased to have it. Now you've got it I'd sell the 12-60 and the 45/1.8 unless DOF is an issue for you at 45mm. If you do a lot of macro the 50/2.8 would be worth keeping. The EM1ii+12-100 is my go to kit for ordinary purposes although if size/weight are an issue on a particular outing the EM10ii with either 14-42EZ or 35-100/2.8 come in to play. I note you don't list an MFT body amongst your kit.David

I've not updated that kit list for a while.
I have an em1. I really like the 45mm for portraits of my kids but will decide in a few weeks once the new lens has been put through its paces. I also like how small it is.

Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Originally posted by Melaka View PostIt's an excellent lens which covers many needs and you'll be pleased to have it. That's true John but I need to raise some funds to cover the purchase to keep the OH happy. 😂

Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Originally posted by Bikie John View PostThe flip side of the 45/1.8 being incredibly good value is that you probably wouldn't get very much for it if you sold it! Since you like it and it takes up so little space in the bag I would say just hang on to it.

JohnOlympus E-30

As everyone has already said it's superb and you will find that it does a great job for you as Dave in Wales has said it's not a lightweight lens, but then it has saved me overall because I just carry that now instead of the 7-14,14-54 and 50-200 I used to carry most of the time for my E-30 I recon I am about 2Kg lighter in my camera bag4/3 Kit E510, E30 + 35macro, 11-22, 14-45 (x2), 14-54, 40-150 (both types), 70-300,

It's a wee bit lighter than my 12-60 which I've been carrying about for years.Originally posted by Dave in Wales View PostBeautiful lens, my only complaint is............it's so big and heavy for a do-anything lens.Last edited by gingram; 24 May 2020, 08:04 PM.Olympus E-30
