That's £212 cheaper.
My usual go-to lens is the 12-45, and as I didn't want to spend a load of dough....the Lumix won hands down.

I haven't used a standard prime in yonks, since my film days, so I thought I'd invest and play around...WOT no zoom ring.

The snaps below are the first-offs from the Lumix, have to say I'm satisfied thus far

I would probably go for the classic 35mm focal length rather than 50. But my most used prime is the 42.5mm PanLeica f/1.2.

+1 for the 35mm as standard lens. The Oly 17mm f1.2 was always on my shopping list.

35mm is my favourite although the 50mm creates an awesome perspective. I absolutely loved owning the 17mm and 25mm F1.2 primes. They were sold when I downsized to a small setup. But they were incredible and well worth the £450 ish used prices.

I bought this lens when I first switched over to OM-System and it was stuck on the front of my OM-5 for quite a while , cracking little walk-around lens (also encourages zooming with the feet, if necessary). Even better, mine was secondhand and set me back the princely sum of £99 at WEX.

I use my 17mm f.8 Olympus as my casual family shots on my EM5II (the old one) I have a family gathering of everyone at my Nieces house, I am taking this lens and my 45mm for portraits

I've used all the 25mm m43 options, and owned at various times all bar the 25mm f1.2. In my view, the nicest in terms of "rendering" is the 25/1.2, but the old Pana Leica 25/1.4 is pretty close. The two f1.8/f1.7 options are in my view pretty close in performance but the Oly lens is slightly better built. However, it's overpriced for what it is. The little Panasonic is really very good value for money.

I just picked up the Oly 25mm F/1.8 Version II for £269 (Hdew) which is a very good price and the weather-sealing makes it very good value.
