  • Using OM primes with OM-D manual focus setting

I can use peaking and manual focus setting with OM - D lenses. As I want to use reversing rings I use a OM 50mm f1.4 lens and would like to use the peaking and manual focus assist settings with my OM-D E1 Mkii camera. As you cannot use the turn focus command to initiate these features how to you set up to assign buttons please?

Link to Peter Fosgard's blog and youtube tutorial (they are in English).

I retained my 50mm f1.4 and adapter, so would be interested in how it performs compared to a 60mm f2.8 macro lens.

Thanks David for this information. Will be following it up today. I'm using the 50mm f1.4 with bellows and reversed lens. This give a x 3 magnification. I also use the 60mm f2.8 with extension tubes which gives about x1.8 magnification. This combination gives excellent results.

I've also used the OM 28mm f2.8 reversed with the bellows which can give about x 5.8 magnification but the lens is very close to the subject!

I set my mk 1 to focus peaking via button Fn1. Custom Menu B, button/dia/lever function, Button Function, select Focus Peaking.

NB allocating "Fn1" in the menu gives the function via button Fn2, to the left of the movie button!
