  • OM System 12-200mm, 75-300mm Question...

For those who have used these and done post-processing with software that has lens corrections such as DxO PhotoLab, have you found that you can compensate for their softness near their long end?

Again, please, only reply if you've used either of these and done post processing as I've stated.

I can’t comment on how to process sharpness at 300mm on the 75-300. But this shot is at 300mm and then processed through DXO with standard optical corrections and deep prime. Hope it helps give a sense of remaining softness with basic processing.

I have the 12-200, I only put mine thru topez photo AI.

Can't say too much. Not sure if DXO will do much more.

I think you over-cooked that one, Henry

Of course. The details allow it to be cooked

I have a very old silver example of the 75-300, so it's not the Mark II, but I have few complaints about it.

A bit of Topaz Sharpen AI can help. I haven't used DxO PhotoLab software for a long time, so I can't help you there.

Here is a thread you might be interested in:

In a recent thread (https://www.e-group.uk.net/forum/forum/show-your-photos/foto-fair/birds/946788-just-lookin-around?p=946807#post946807) where I posted some shots of some sparrows, shot with the 75-300 (an old silver Mark 1 example, too), MJ224 asked me what the unprocessed results looked like. I had used Topaz Sharpen AI on
