Im wanting to get a bit closer to wildlife than my 40-150 will give on my Em10 and being on a limied budget and wanting something compact Ive been looking at the Samyang(Rokinon) 500mm f6.3 manual focus mirror telephoto. Ive read a couple of reviews and see it has a few limitations but sounds about right, I was wondering if anyone here has experience with them.
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the reply Brian
Yes I saw that, its one of the reviews I found, sounds good and as you say the Is on the rm10 plus I have a decent solid tripod will help considerably with stability.
I was concerned about hanging a big lens off the front of the diminutive em10 and having to use the camera tripod bush but this lens is not much different from the 40-150 so that wont be an issue

Hi Phil
is it the 300 or the 500 you are looking at? i've only recently started to have a play with the 300 for astronomy but i've taken a few quick pics below today of some feathered friends, from bedroom window, tripod mounted, IS off,
Hi Linus, yeah the 300, typo in my thread. Thats great, im after getting a bit closer for birding and stuff, dont think Id use it for astro, got dedicated kit for that.
Thanks for the examples
Phil
