  • HELP! Do you have a Sigma 105 mm Macro lens?

    Hi There,

I have the Sigma 105 Macro lees, and for ongoing health problems I haven't had a chance to use until yesterday. I put the lens on my E30 and fired off a few shots. Today for some reason the lens would not focus, however I did notice that the barrel of the lens had moved up and down wwhen my hand slipped on it - presumably something to deal with Auto / Manual focus. I am not sure what the limit/full switch actually does either.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the instruction manual for this lens as it didn't come with an instruction manual at the time when I bought it here on the forum.

Forgive my ignorance on this one as I am new to macro.
    Thank you.
    Benedict

The focus ring slides back and fourth to engage and disengage autofucus. The limit switch does as it says on the tin, limiting the focus range of the lens. That about covers the lens maual.

I think you'll be extremely happy with the Sigma 105 mm macro, but it has some quirks compared to Olympus lenses.
When switching from manual focus (in camera plus AF/manual button on lens ) to AF I sometimes had to turn camera off/on.
Also using S-AF+M manual focusing is somewhat 'harsh', switching to Manual focus only (in camera plus lens button), makes manual focussing much smoother.
Regarding AF: I only using single AF with one pre-selected focus point.

This lens is capable of producing excellent results in spite of the small 'quirks' I have seen so far
