Summer cashback questions

Anyone have any idea how long it takes following ordering for the order to to go from processing to whatever the next stage is? And then for the items to be delivered so that cashback can be claimed? Just wondering if there is still time to get an OM1 MK2 delivered and claim the cashback before the August deadline?

Delivery notification 20 June
Delivery 48 hrs later
Cashback claim acknowledged 27 June
Approval notification 22 July
Cash already in bank 19 july

Are you thinking of ordering from OMS directly Phill? As I understand it the Summer Cashback is available from most dealers so you can order from one of them and probably get next day delivery. As long as you make the purchase before the offer expires (28 July I think) you have until 11 August to submit your claim. With my Mk 1 the cashback took about a month to arrive.

I actually ordered from OM direct this afternoon but the order still says processing. Having just looked at the cashback claim details it seems you need the serial number of the item to claim so that presumably means I need the camera to have been delivered before the claim deadline? Interesting to see you seem to have claimed before delivery Nutmeg. How did you do that?

I don't think so - proof of purchase should be enough.

Hi Ian I just looked back at the firm and it definitely says it needs the serial number off the camera and even shows a little picture of where to find it. So my question still stands how are folks claiming cashback without the kit in hand? Also 2 days after placing the order the status on my OMSystems account page still says processing. Starting to get bit concerned now.

I think you do it on two goes , 10% off at order then the cash back once ordered - but could be wrong!

That's correct, when you order a box appears for a voucher code put the code in and it takes off the discount. The cashback form I thought asked for a serial number but maybe I got that wrong. I'll have to go back and look.

Ah, I think Rusty arrow is probably correct. Sorry for misleading you, I'm still in France and don't have the paperwork to hand. The orfer confirmation is proof of purchase within the qualifying period, and OM dealt with things expeditiously

5 days elapsed since order now and the order still says processing and the contact us link doesn't work Looking like I'm just going to have to download the manual for my birthday fingers very crossed now.

I ordered a pair of binoculars on 20th thinking a week or so for delivery (I had to be away from the 29th for a few days), received acknowledgement of the order then nothing until the 26th when I received a tracking number from UPS and an email from OM saying the package had been shipped (followed by an email rejecting my query via the contact form the previous day), UPS didn't receive the package until the 29th. Delivery is delayed by a day due to missing "scheduled transport departure". Now due for delivery tomorrow. Problem is I am unavoidably away from home this week. I signed up to UPS My Choices to try to change the delivery details but to complete registration I need a PIN which UPS send out by post, taking 7 - 10 days to arrive! Hopefully I will be able to collect the package when I get home towards the end of the week.

Needless to say I will not be ordering from OM online unless it is a real bargain and I have at least a two week window for delivery.

Yes but you need to sign up to UPS My Choices. Activation of your account is via a PIN which they send out by post which takes 7 - 10 days. Delivery is scheduled before this would arrive. It's all a bit of bad timing really since I have to be away this week but I hadn't expected OM to take so long processing my order - partly my fault for ordering over a weekend but almost 6 working days to get the parcel to UPS (in Germany) seems a little tardy.

My application was approved on the 9th July, money paid into my account on 26th July.
