Presumably it's a grey import as they only offer a one year seller's warranty.

I've used Richmond. Bought a 12-40 from them. I'd use them again. Yes, these are grey exports.

Has anyone had to make use of their seller warranty and if so did you get a good service?

There was a post recently (within the last three months) offering praise of the seller's warranty provided by HDEW, so it wouldn't put me off.
Camera lenses seem to be far more reliable than the camera body itself.

            Re: Richmondcameras

My em1 developed a faulty dial about a year after I bought it. Olympus repaired it under warranty, very fast and great service.

I'm not sure how these other warranties by richmond are sorted out because Olympus wont repair them, so how do they get parts and what about specialist equipment for repairing Oly gear? Will richmond even exist after another year? Then what does one do?

I'm buying the 40-150 f2.8 in the next day or two, so it's been on my mind where to get it from. Think it'll be from an authorised dealer.

Also I've taken my gear under water falls so I'd hate to have trouble with a warranty after that!

Olympus state on their website now that they do not do international repair and warranty. In the EU it is EU repair and warranty and they will not honour repairs for products bought outside the EU. Food for thought!
