converted 620 astro

I shelled out an arm and a leg to use this camera for astrophotography...this is 10x 8sec ISO 800 stacked...couldnt do this on film or with the E400 nor with a conventional E620...



Now to get Olympus Viewer 2 to batch process and save!

A lot easier than you think...you have a camera, you have a tripod...set everything to manual, aperture wide open, ISO 1600, focus with liveview, 10 second exposure.
Do several images without moving camera or tripod...use this s/w http://deepskystacker.free.fr/english/index.html
Mangle the result in PS or other s/w that you like...
...the lens on this was the ZD50

Chris - do you mean you had the camera body converted for infra-red? What does this do for you that an unconverted body wouldn't?

I had the IR filter and AA filter removed for astro work...gives a wider spectral response especially in to the red

No good trying to photograph stars in the London area. The only way to see them here is to get hit on the head!
