..... I don't know if this is a firmware modification for the new camera or if the OM-3 already had it. If so, why do they not have it on the flagship camera the OM-1 Mk II?
Perhaps that will be a feature for a OM-1 Mk3 which OMS are keeping up their sleeve for when/if it is released. Nikon brought out the D810A after the D810 was released which was specifically an Astrophotography camera. I don't know if these cameras with their modified IR filter are suitable for conventional photography. Maybe an Astrophotography camera is dedicated to just that genre (?), which would mean the OM-1 mk2 wouldn't be suitable without an IR filter change.I don't know.
Edit: I think it is a hardware issue, not just firmware.
