  • HELP - camera died

    Hi Folks,
I am at school about to take pics of the annual drama production. Just as I was taking pics of the make up etc the screen went dark. I can now turn it on but I cannot use the shutter and the screen is black. The settings are still showing. I have tried a reset, removed battery, changed lens...now I am stuck. Does anybody have any ideas?

Please excuse me if I do not respond quickly to any replies as I will be in the play...even without the camera.

    Thank you in advance
    Shirley

PS I am using an EM5

    Hi there Shirley!

Just a quick question - if you take the lens off can you see the sensor like normal or can you see the shutter?

    Cheers,

    Ralph

Aah yes the shutter, it clearly hasn't gone back to wherever it should go! Is there a quick fix or is it dead for now?

After the diagnoses i'm afraid my knowledge runs out - I would think that if a battery out reset hasn't cured it it is going to be a trip to olympus portugal - if any other members of the forum know better please post!

        Cheers,

        Ralph.

Just a thought, but have you tried it with a fully charged battery - it may be the battery was low as it was taking a shot which has caused it to stick?
