  • EM5 Mark 2

I am in the process of purchasing an EM 5 Mark 2. Can anybody advise if this model has Pro Capture

  • #2
No, the E-M5 Mk II does not have Pro Capture, which was introduced on the E-M1 Mk II.

    See more here: https://learnandsupport.getolympus.c...o-capture-mode

The E-M5 Mk III is effectively an E-M1 Mk II "Lite" and does have Pro Capture as shown in the list in the above link. What's missing from the supported cameras list is the OM System OM-5, which does have Pro Capture.

    Cameras: OM System OM-1, Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mk III, Olympus OM-D E-M1 | Flashes: Olympus FL-900R, Olympus FL-50R
    Lenses: Too many to list.

All the reading that I have been doing suggested that it did not have Pro Capture but I couldn't find any confirmation so, your info helps a lot thanks

Agreed - no Pro Capture on the EM5.2. It also lacks PDAF and uses the older 16Mp sensor. It's a decent option for general photography, but it's no action camera.

It did get focus stacking though from a firmware update, but only with certain lenses.

Whilst we are on the subject of the E-M5 ii, is there anything that can be done to improve the woefully slow start up time?
          Thanks

Might be best to start a new thread to get more attention?

I've moved this thread to the E-M5 Mark II board.
