  • Tips on camera setup for BIF or moving objects

Does anyone offer any tips on taking shots of BIF or moving objects?

Was out photographing a friend with her dog doing trials yesterday, got home and am less than happy with results as vast majority are out of focus, tried a few different settings on camera SAF and centre nine points, then tried CAF but looking at pics there are very few pics where the camera has picked a suitable point to focus on .

So where do I need to start?

There are quite few threads on here that talk about bird in flight settings. Worth doing a search.

If you are shooting a moving target against a busy background that makes getting the correct focus even more difficult. If at all possible try to get a clear background in your shot.

I would recommend setting up your camera to use back button focusing and CAF.
