  • E-M5 II flippy screen/EVF switching query

After a couple of hours of fiddling and testing options I've more or less got my new 5 II set up in a way that works for me, but can I just check that it's not possible to set it to auto-switch to EVF when the screen is in live view and flipped out to the side? It switches fine when you put the VF to your eye with the screen facing out in place on the back of the body.

On the street, if you are using the camera in 'TLR mode' at chest level it's a major advantage to be able to use the EVF immediately if you suddenly step in to bright sunlight and you can't see the screen clearly.

The E-M1 will do this automatically via the eye sensor: it looks like I'd need to flip the screen back in to place against the body with the M5 II, which is more to think about, slower, and the movement might draw more attention.

I can't see any advantage to disabling automatic switching in this way, and I can't see any way of adjusting it via a menu or button. Have I missed something?
    Regards,
    Mark
