I've just spent a pleasant 3 hours teaching a friend from our camera club how to shoot macro.

She currently uses a Nikon aps-c with some consumer lenses and after showing her how to get something using ext tube + her 55-200 I lent her my EM-5mk2 + 60mm macro

I have never seen anyone pick up the technique I use so quickly nor end up with such a big happy grin when she saw the results

Cue many questions about how much was it, where could she get one etc

She left hooked on macro (I even love flies now she said ) and muttering about plans for the future with an EM-5 + 60mm macro

    Well done Olympus (yet again)

These were some of her favourite shots, not bad for someone who has never used a macro lens before, let alone being totally new to the Olympus EM system

My only worry now is that she will follow the path set by some other of my "Students" who beat the socks off me with their macro shots in the club competitions

Ahh BUT them that can't do, are not the best to Teach because

                        Indeed she did Brian,

Although my heart is still wedded to my film cameras I have to say the 5mkII has definitely rekindled my 'digital' mojo, it's excellent ergonomics just make you want to use it all the time.

Of course one also needs an eye for a picture and your friend has clearly done well in that department too.

                        Kind regards, Simon
