I was wondering how long it would be before you posted something from this new lens.

An excellent example of what it can do wide open. I guess a shot taken at optimum aperture, is on the cards for the next day of reasonable weather.

      Thanks for showing this.

There are 47 sample images to download via my article on FTU (a choice of 94 files as I've uploaded RAWs as well).

This one here is one of them but artistically enhanced in Lightroom

Yep think I might succumb to one of these later in the year. I have been considering the 45mm but this is more the sort of focal length I'd use.

The end of the lens was quite close to the handle bar it has to be said.

                  Thank's Ian, I missed those...

Looking very closely at image (P1270192.ORF) taken at f/4 the "Orange Peel" texture of the red paint on the sign is a very clear indicator of the quality of the images that we can expect to see from this lens.

I was fortunate enough to have a brief hold of this lens, and the E-M10, last night (thanks, Ian), and physically it is all but identical to the excellent 45mm.

                          Re: Bike handle blur

A bit of a set back this morning - Stephen very kindly lent me his PanLeica 25mm f/1.4 (don't worry, your lens is fine! ), but it seems that the Olympus 25mm sample I have is not focusing correctly. Back to back shots with the Leica and two other lenses seem to indicate a mis-focus. This is critical with subjects near to the camera where exact focus is required so hopefully the sample shots in my gallery on FTU, which are mainly longer distances, are probably OK.

Damn! I was hoping you'd have to replace it with that Oly 25mm!

                              m.Zuiko 25mm f/1.8 @f/1.8, centre crop (1:1)

                              Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4 @f/1.8, centre crop (1:1)

The book spines behind the model mini box and rubic's cube (which was the point of focus) are more blurred in the Oly 25mm shot than the PanLeica shot, which to me indicates a mis-focus.

Focus was done using AF but the Oly 25 lens was used to take several shots and refocused each time and they are all the same.

                              Ian

PS, the shooting distance was the same (E-M1 body on a tripod) but the PanLeica shot is 'larger' - seems closer, which is anothe clue that the focus doesn't match.
