  • It Arrived this Morning

I was going out this morning good job I changed my mind, because, I had a Dream early this morning. Do dreams come True? YES! this one did. I not kidding you...I dreamed of a knock on my door and my New Olympus gear arrived with Broken parcel...

JESUS Mun! at 9:30am I had knock on my door. It was my OLYMPUS Box all BROKEN...Thankfully the gear inside was OK.

I had NO e-mail telling me when it would arrive. Olympus is slacking there. Anyway, I inserted a 32gb 90 speed Sandisk in it and it works. Looks like this 12-40mm f2.8 is going to be my walkabout lens on this camera, along with the 60mm Macro when I need it.My 12-50mm will now stay at home.

Now all this along with my 100-400mm is going to push up my camera Insurance. I must phone them up later. Photoguard are pretty good. Going to do the Warranty on this lot now. Have a GOOD DAY Folks..

If you remember I ordered the Om1 Mk2 + 12-40mm + 30mm Macro for £1,100..NO more buying gear for a long while now..

You'll love the MkII + 12-40 combo. Great walkabout and fab quality. I don't have the 30mm but it does get terrific reviews.

      Enjoy!

Well, You'll not believe this..At first Everything Worked Great. That 12-40 worked on Both my Cameras...I change the Focus to BBF...I do a Firmware Update. Then the Darn Lens would NOt focus in Af...
I tried everything, n I mean Everything. Would not even focus with AF on other camera. ONLy focus via Manual. So I thought, The Dreaded Baddies are following me...So I informed Oly and filled in and Printed the Repair Sheet...Got out the Box etc. Then whilst it was in my hand I decided, One more Ruddy try lol..So I held in the L-Fn button and this time I twisted the top of lens, loo n behold lens opened that way, so I put on camera and Darn thing worked in AF. Tried it on my older Om1 Mk2 and it worked on there. So, Why did this Lens NOT Unlock when you twist it normally????. I am BAFFLED!...When I take a photo or two, I will post for you.
Linus1884--I now have Both lenses. and a few more. Only just bought the 100-400mm as well. Still NOT got a good Sharp shot of bird in Flight though LOL.

It took me 2 days! to figure out the AF on my EM-1 and 12-40 combo.
Hadn't realised you slid the focusing ring forward to switch MF off. Duh!!
                  So you are not alone.
They don't do upgrades on the brain only the cameras.
