and was it the same as when Webcam mode last worked?

Good question! I'm pretty confident it was on 1.3 when it worked in April.

Maybe the next step is to try the latest ver. 1.5?

Now on Ver. 1.5. No change in behaviour, Skype and WebcamTest show the camera returning a black screen.

I may have found a work-around. The official OM Systems instructions say to set the camera in movie mode, and in that mode Skype refuses to show anything, even though I can see the image stream on the camera LCD. But if I set the camera to P or A, well, it all works ... except there is no auto focus. (C-AF in A or P doesn't work, of course, because the shutter button is not half-pressed.) Argh! OK, so, set f/16 or similar with plenty of light and don't move around too much during the video call.
